Bergen and Vestland County Alarm transmission
We make sure the alarm reaches the right recipient straight away – by mobile, through a security company or directly to the fire service emergency centre (110). From Os and Bjørnafjorden to Bergen, Askøy and Øygarden.
When the alarm gets through
A fire alarm does little good if nobody hears it. Alarm transmission sends the signal on from the panel, so someone can respond at night, at weekends and in empty buildings.
We connect fire alarms and intrusion alarms, and choose the recipient based on what the building needs. The transmission is supervised, so you are told if the connection drops.
- Alerts to mobile phones by SMS and app
- Connection to security companies and alarm receiving centres
- Direct alerting to the fire service emergency centre (110)
- Supervised transmission over 4G and IP with a backup path
- Testing, annual inspection and service
From alarm to the right recipient
Survey
We review which systems to connect, who should be alerted, and what the fire service or insurer requires.
Solution
You get a proposal for the transmitter, transmission path and recipient, with a backup path where needed.
Installation and testing
We install and program the transmitter and test every signal all the way to the recipient.
Annual test
The transmission is tested at the annual inspection, and line faults are followed up straight away.
Requirements for alarm transmission
Which requirements apply depends on the building and on what is transmitted. Fire alarms with direct alerting have their own fire service requirements, and insurers may set requirements for intrusion alarms.
- NS-EN 50136 – requirements for alarm transmission systems
- NS 3960:2019 – transmission of fire alarms
- Fire service requirements for direct alerting to the 110 centre
- Fire Prevention Regulations § 5 – the owner must ensure inspection and maintenance
Common questions about alarm transmission
Does the fire alarm have to go directly to the fire service?
It depends on the building. Some buildings must have direct alerting to the 110 centre, others can alert a security company or an on-call phone. We check what applies to your building.
What happens if the mobile network goes down?
The transmission is supervised, and with a backup path over a second connection the alarm still gets through if one path fails. A broken connection is reported as a fault.
Can we change security company?
Yes. We reprogram the transmitter for the new recipient and test that all signals get through.
Need alarm transmission or a new transmitter?
Tell us about the building and what you need, and we will send you a quote.
